A Note from Linda
I
just want to thank everyone
for all the support, kind words, heartfelt stories, letters, e-mails
and hugs following the loss of my beloved Peekapoo, Joey. For those of
you who
weren't at the seminar in June, my little guy was killed by a
hit-and-run driver outside my home in the early morning hours before
our field trip to
Sonoma on Saturday. Needless to say, it was a difficult weekend for me,
and I never would have gotten through Saturday and Sunday were it not
for the
understanding and compassion of all those who attended the seminar. I miss you, my pal
Joey.

Beginning in next
month's newsletter, we'll be giving you previews of Linda's
upcoming book, in
which she talks about her philosophy of designing with architecture.
Alongside over 140 color photos of her interior and exterior
design work,
Linda demonstrates in detail how she uses windows, beams and
lintels, arches and niches, columns, pilasters, moldings,
cabinetry,
fireplaces, antiques and other architectural details
to transform and embellish her rooms and homes. And speaking of
the book, Gibbs Smith,
the publisher, tells us we are on schedule for a March, 2007
publication.
Online Seminar
In terms of future seminars, we are looking into visiting different parts of the country, as well
as hosting a seminar online. An online seminar, also called a webinar,
would enable all our guests to attend while sitting at their
computers. Linda would be live and in person, and each participant
would log in to the presentation from their own computer. Guests can
hear and see
Linda, view the photos, ask questions, and never have to leave their
homes or offices. We think this is a great way to reach and teach more
people. We'd love to know your thoughts and experiences with
this new technology, and hear from anyone who has attended any
kind of
internet presentation. We especially would like to know what were
some of the problems or pitfalls you encountered, and what is the
optimum
amount of time that is comfortable for this kind of event. Is two hours
enough? Is four hours too much? Please feel free to drop us a line.
