Snapshots from New
Mexico
A Note from
Linda 6
The success of our Design in the Desert seminar
in Santa Fe
last month exceeded even my highest expectations, thanks to our
wonderful guests - many of whom traveled hundreds of miles to
attend our
first-ever Southwest event. It is so gratifying to see our
guests enjoying every detail that went into the
planning of the
weekend. I am so blessed to be surrounded by such a talented and
creative staff, who gave so much of themselves so our guests could
relax and
enjoy every moment of their time in the "City Different." Whenever we
give a seminar, I learn so much from the people I meet and the process
of
sharing my principles of design with others who care as much as I
do about beauty. It is truly my favorite part of my work.
Thank
you all so much for coming to this place that has such magic for me,
and for
bringing your enthusiasm and commitment to design. Here are a few
snapshots from the weekend, and I'll be posting more pictures in the
coming months
in the newsletter and on the website. I also want to thank you for all your wonderful comments, which I love to read. You
really made the weekend the great success it was.

Thirteen Moons Gallery Reception 6
On Friday evening,
over 50 guests from eleven states in the U.S. came
to Jane Sauer's contemporary and eclectic crafts
gallery on Canyon Road, the heart of Santa Fe's renowned art
mecca. The personalities were as diverse as the materials in the
collection, and Design in the Desert was off to a great start.

Kirby Kendrick's Artist's Compound 6
The Grande Dame was never more grande than on
Saturday morning, showing off her fittings and finishes as if she were an ingenue on the cover of Su Casa. We should all age so gracefully!
Many thanks again to artist Kirby Kendrick for welcoming us into her very special
home.

Casita Alegria 6
Linda demonstrated the concepts she wrote about in
"Architectural Interiors,"
and showed how she applied them to her new home in Santa
Fe. The result is a lovingly restored yet
comfortably original adobe home where our guests felt as though they
stepped back in time when they entered the gate from the old dirt road.
As
Stephanie said, "Every room has so many wonderful surprises, I had to
go through several times to catch them all."

Design in the Desert 6
Gorgeous
weather, fabulous New Mexican food and three days of art
and design! Our guests described the event as "inspiring,"
"educational," "spiritual," "totally joyful," "very generous" and "one
of the
best trips of my life."
